Robert Wessel is president of Wessel Associates, Ltd. His appraisal career started in 1977. He developed an interest in real estate while spending summers in Downstate Illinois helping rehab homes purchased by a relative who happened to own a real estate brokerage office. The appraisal field was a natural fit. He is an Illinois State Certified General Appraiser and holds an Illinois real estate brokers license. He is also a member of the National Association of Realtors, and the Illinois Association of Realtors. He has participated in appraisal seminars as well as broker/appraiser roundtables. He is frequently asked to speak to groups of Realtors and lenders regarding appraisal topics. Robert is also a leader in appraisal technology. Even before facsimile machines became popular in the 1980's, he was providing clients with faxed reports while others were still using the mails. He was among the first appraisers to make the digital switch. He has been providing clients with computer-generated reports with digital images since 1993! Wessel Associates has prepared over 10,000 appraisal reports for mortgage, refinance, tax appeal, PMI removal, prelisting, relocation, home equity, home improvement, divorce, trust, and estate purposes.
